Big Eyed Fish video

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Said much better than me...

Whoa whoa whoa, slow down buddy. I'm not trying to sound like a dick but this is Big Eyed Fish, not Billies, or Stone. Also, you have the meaning of these boards all wrong. Its not just to learn how to play Dave. Jared has even said himself how he is so amazed at how this site has grown because it isn't just about Dave. It helps people in many many ways besides just learning DMB tunes.

But the initial creation of this site was to spread accurate DMB tablature. The outcome is irrevelant. You use this site probably becuase you feel welcome here & to strengthen you guitar skills. Whereas, some people only use this site for learning. Peronally, I use it for gitar & trading & if I make some cyber friends along the way, tha's cool. (I think I onkly made 2 so far) Anyway, Im done with this topic & I will try to make this guy a video clip.

ON Big Eyed Fish, just pick the A string before hitting the A and D together. Keep f'ing around with it and you will make it sound a little bit more like Dave each time

is it me or does everything just sound a lot better when pat lays it down on a recording. that sounds much cleaner than when dave plays it IMO

It's just guitar only, and it's natural, not all amped and stuff, and yes, I'll chime in when I damn well feel like it!!!!

A request for a clip of an easy song causes a three page thread?? Like someone said earlier, adding some rhythm with the A string and some strumming is all it takes. I do want to make it clear that I did try to get this down myself and only asked for a clip because I thought it would simply imrove my learning curve.
I actually have parts or all of many DMB songs down, poorly I am sure, and to other beginners I suggest printing out the tabs on this site and putting them in a binder in alephabetical order (and then donating a few bucks to keep this place running). Use you interest in DMB as a motivational factor to practice and improve. Just flip through the tabs every night and work on parts or all of songs you enjoy. Mix in some practice of scales and remember to work on your basic chords. Have fun with it and if something sounds cool, but is not part of a song, then play it and tell all the ladies that don't know Dave tunes that you created it. I have been playing for a few months and one of the best feeling is when you sit down with a DMB tab and you can actually hear yourself playing part of the song. Add in tabs from other artist that interest you and add them to your binder. I already have about 50 song's tabed and it is just a grea thing to have as you play with other people. I use tabrobot.com for all my non DMB needs.
Pat, as always you step in and solve the problem. Bush should hire you and your guitar and throw you in the middle of Bagdad. What do you think about that.....
Your recording sounds better then the actual CD. Following the tab with your audio clip, it does seem like you are adding in some cool strumming. I hope I did not waste my recording requests on an easier song like BEF. By the way, your video for Minarets is not opening for me. If you have a chance, double check to make sure that it is your server and not my computer. Thanks all, now lets put this to bed.
