Question about Griffin GarageBand Guitar Cable

Im looking at buying a cable to plug my alvarez acoustic electric into my computer. I have a few questions. The first being, will this help the quality of my recording tremendously? The second, does anyone if it will work in windows XP? The final question, with the cable be the only thing i have to buy or will i have to get an adaptor or anything along those lines? Anyone having experience with this would be great, but any help in general would be great.

nevermind, i got it and i love it, it works fine, id recommend it

I am doing this as well. I am going to buy a pre-amp to run it to before going in to my powerbook, but for now I want to plug it directly in. What did you have to buy to plug your guitar in to your mac?
I think people think that maybe theres more chance I'll play if they sound mad and I'm like you guys are just pretending, I know why you go to the gym its for the steam room big boy, come in here with that '41' stuff, I see through that tiger DM 3-19
