Help with Tim's 2nd solo on Billies (storytellers)

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Help with Tim's 2nd solo on Billies (storytellers)

Unread post by fliggil » Tue Feb 08, 2005 10:51 am

So I'm planning to do a song or 2 at an open mic for an event I'm helping organize, and I think as far as an entire song goes, Billies is my best overall. I was thinking if I could throw in Tim's 2nd solo from Billies (it seems somewhat easier than the 1st), it'd be a whole lot better. I've been practicing and have it all memorized, my problem is speed (I think he plays it in 8 seconds) and accuracy, are there any scales or anything I could work on to help me get better at this? I have like 5 weeks, so I'm hoping to really get this down pat.

I have noticed a lot of Tim's runs a made easier with constant practice of the Segovia Scales for classical guitar. Segovia once said you should practice scales everyday for at least 2 hours. Most of us do not have time to do this, but I do they they are very helpful.
