Question about a tuning

Unread post by schubox » Mon Feb 07, 2005 11:07 am

Looking at a Coldplay tab and the tuning is E,G,D,D,B,D
Can I tune normal strings to this without a problem?
I think people think that maybe theres more chance I'll play if they sound mad and I'm like you guys are just pretending, I know why you go to the gym its for the steam room big boy, come in here with that '41' stuff, I see through that tiger DM 3-19

There shouldn't be much issue with it since every note that's changed is lowered from standard. If it were raised, you would probably encounter some tension issues and maybe break strings.

you probably need to put a D string there, that's what i do. either that or tune it down, but it might be loose

2.5 steps down I'd guess. It does seem it could flop nicely though.

yeah dropping it down 2 and a half is a lot, but I will jsut do it on my starter 6 string, I hate retuning my 12 string for one song
