Grey St.?????

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Look at my tab, underneath, I have which directions I'm strumming.

D - Down
U - Up

Code: Select all

Verse
E:----------------------------------
B:----------------------------------
G:-7----4---6---2----4---6---2---4--
D:-x----x---x---x----x---x---x---x--
A:-x----x---x---x----x---x---x---x--
E:-7----3---5---2----3---5---2---3--
   D D U D D U D U (strum while sliding back to the 7's)
all i'm saying is there is an extra beat in between the G and A. so ithe strumming pattern is this:

Code: Select all

Verse
E:-------------
B:-------------
G:---4-----6---
D:---x-----x---
A:---x-----x---
E:---3-----5---
     D U D U
whether you hit the strings during those is up to you.

I strum it more than dave, to fill in the cracks of just playing it solo.

holy hell i just realized i put the extra stroke in it like Duffman tabbed out. I too find playing songs like billies and GS with the four fingers instead of two, just so much more fun and feels more comfrotable to me

Again, I think the idea here should not be to mimic him but to get the essence of the song and make it one's own.

Of course it's going to sound similar to Dave but not BE Dave :)

FORGET ABOUT THE NOTES AND THE STROKES!

You know the song. Close your eyes and use your right hand like you think it should feel.

Your left hand will work.

That's kinda the point.

Left hand seems intimidating. Then you figure that out...except your right hand doesn't seem to work correctly with the left.

Then you start playing the songs...and it all starts making sense.

All of it. ;-)

Would it be possible for someone to provide that?? As this is my first post and the fact that I'm relativly new here, I apologize if this type of request is not welcomed....

thats a good way to put it.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
