Anyone else think DMB pumps out WAYYY too many live albums?

I think 1 a year is plenty.

definitely, 1 a year is a treat, more than that is kind of overkill

if they changed things up a bit, like if most versions of the same song didnt sound so identical then it would be cool to pump em out but when u hear the same smts->astb->too much, wwys, ddtw and wtwe all the time (dont get me wrong, i love these songs) i just feel it takes the flavor out. i mean, look at phish's live releases, few repeats, and the ones that do always sound different (of course they spent a lot more time as a band but still you get my point)

I know what you mean, even if it's just switching up little lyrics, its better than a carbon copy.

the gorge dvd blows. the editing is shitty. central park was the best thing this band has ever put out. the cd mix was awesome and the dvd was SO good.

I was at gorge 02, so of course I'm a little biased...but I have to say that other than grace is gone, the variation was great. Only Loving wings-> wayg, grey st, and too much were played twice (and none besides gig were played 3x.) For a three night stand that's outstanding.

But I must say that official release totally let me down. I was ready for a 4-dvd box set. :(

That would have been a great idea! I was there as well. Great shows.

It would be neat if they did a live show at the theaters like phish did for one show this year. It would be nice to see a little variation and the ability to swim new waters and blaze new trails.

I've grown tired of the offical DVD's. I have a shitload of DVD's through trading/Dl'ing that weren't released & find them more fun to watch than the official releases. I only like CP because it's NY,NY. My favorite City of all...in my favorite park of all.

reasons why the gorge dvd sucks:

its random songs from random nights in no particular order for the most part

the editing is so choppy and spliced

THE ANGLING OF THE CAMERA PISSES ME OFF TO NO END

The dvd has no flow

overall it's just a hackjob of a DVD. they could have really put so much more on it.

and the cd's are the best part. tons of songs that the band mostly played well all three nights. good variation except for gig, which i don't even really mind. LW is really nice all the time, but i hate wayg, but i guess you get what you get when you get LW.

Is this the one included in the CD set? If so they have multi-angle views if you don't like the default angles.

i think i'd rather see more official DVDs, i mean the trading ones are great (benaroya for example is very well done), but you guys are all right, the bands got way too many live CDs out, i mean the DMB Trax thing is a good idea in concept, but not that many people are gonna dish out $20 every couple months for bascially the same stuff, i only got the centrum CDs because of bela and timmy, but i wasn't about to get GGP just because of santana - i've got a recording of the show i went to last summer and love it, i don't need another
