awesome Bach recording

Unread post by kcw » Fri Jan 28, 2005 11:05 pm

Hey I was just playing around and recorded this. Its about half of Jesu, Joy Of A Man's Desireing. I really like it, its one of the best recordings ive done on that software I think.

I am listening on a pair of yorkville ysm1's and I think if you turn down the lows (a little distortion) and the highs (somewhat tinny) you will have a cd quality recording here. The mids sound great. I am by no means a recording enginneer, but after getting these monitors you can really tell how the mix translates to other systems. What did you use to monitor this. If I were guessing I'd say headphones since it is hard to judge the bass response on any set even the expensive ones. Make these minor eq adjustments and it will be superb.

Well. I dont use very high tech stuff. I dont even use headphones. This was done on Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro through a crappy computer. The headphone jack in this doesnt work or I cant get it to work so I cant use them. Its really low tech.

What do you mean by turning down the lows and highs. I really dont know much about recording so I just mess around with it when I record my stuff and hope what I'm doing will sound good. So far I have two good recordings and one not so good one with a bunch of old ones i did on my old software.

Adjust the equalization. I am not familar with guitar tracks, but I'm sure it is there somewhere. What are you using to monitor.
