the reincarnation of the Godin A6

Unread post by Ranting Thespian » Sat Jan 29, 2005 1:48 am

The Godin A6 and A12 have been dumped. Here's an old link to the site, where you can't get to from the homepage, but you have to do a web search (obviously they didn't delete it fully yet).

Now, I went to the store today, and asked for Godin guitars, the guy was amazed. He said I was the first to ask about them, and he loves them, but says most people don't know what the heck they are. They didn't have any godin solid body acoustics. They had an electric godin with an acoustic pickup in it, but that's it. Then, I look over by the Seagulls (part of the same company as Godin guitars), and this guitar looked almost exactly like the A6. I pulled it down, and played it. The guy goes over to the computers to look something up on it. It sounded great, played great, and was lighter than a Chet. It had a full black finish that made it look like a chet, too. He came back and said that actualy Godin has cancelled it's A6 and A12 lines, and transfered the guitar to their Seagull brand. Basicly, they just took the guitar, and stuck a seagull head on it. Why, I don't know. Here's a link to see the Seagull SA6 (scroll down the page)

So, filmdude, better act fast, because a Godin A6 is already rare.

hmmm thats a problem, because no one will buy it, they've been at the store forever. But they were gonna have to order the A6 in a natural finish. All they had was a burst finish... oh well, they also carry seaguls so since the godin thing wont work out, they should be able to get me a seagul version...

hell maybe even the seagul is cheaper.

I got to play a Crowdster two days ago. It was amazing. It sounded just like playing an acoustic, and was light as hell.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

The one I saw was 600 bucks. But then again, Ward Brod sucks (I just went there because they were the only one in town that carries godin guitars . . . and they had only 1, not including the seagull SA6), and they jack up the prices, so it might e cheaper. It's the exact same guitar, though, just a different head. They didn't downgrade anything, it's the exact same. I might look into buying one later in my life.
