Hello and welcome. Here is my advice to you:
1 ) Don't stop listening to other bands.
2 ) Try to balance out the time you spend listening to other bands.
3 ) Don't believe that DMB is the greatest band because anyone else says so.
4 ) Don't accept mediocrity.
5 ) Don't get caught up in the hype.
6 ) Don't make excuses for mediocrity.
7 ) Don't let all the horny 16 year olds here hit on you...they will because you're a female guitarist who is here...they will, don't encourage them.
8 ) Stay away from DMB message boards as best you can...come every now and again, but don't let it become habitual.
