Rainsong Guitars

Unread post by mangold » Sat Jan 15, 2005 12:30 pm

Has anyone here played on of these? they look real nice and supposedly are like the loudest acoustics money can buy. Id imagine a graphite guitar would have a really cool sound to it, but ive not had the pleasure of playin one

I was at a guitar store, looked up and saw one. I thought, eh, must be crap. I grabbed it down, and played it. Wow, it sounded just as good as wood acoustic. I don't like the look of them, though, but the feel was fine. Definately something to check out.

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

I drove almost 2 hours to Madison to play a RainSong, and I'm sold. The dealer had both CA and Rainsong. They both sounded great, but I'd go for the RainSong, even though it's more money. Like Thespian said, it sounds just as good as a wood guitar.

It will be mine one day. Oh yes.

i wonder if you'd have to worry about humidity issues with those guitars. if you don't that would be a huge benefit to us up in the northern part of the country.

that's the thing about these guitars, you don't really have to worry about them at all. you could keep it at the bottom of your swimming pool if you wanted and it wouldn't phase them.

So you live 2 hours away from me . . .

Also, Madison Music sucks for prices. They are insane, 14 dollars for a pack of Dean Markleys that I could get for 6 at Good & Loud.

Anyways, kewl, what city are you in?

How did the CA and Rainsong compare directly? I was really curious about these graphite guitars a while back and posted the same question but I didn't get a single response. Yeah poor me. Anyway, do you remember any specific differences i.e. volume, playability, inotonation etc. Thanks.

I'm considering moving waaaaay up north. If these things sound as good as they cost than I'm sold.

Sorry for the delay......

I felt that the RS just felt more like a well-built guitar. It's hard to explain, but the feel to me was just higher quality. They both sounded nice, and they both felt strong and well-built, but the RS just seemed better to me than the CA.

I know that's not what you're looking for. I'd go to a store and play both of them.

No worries. I was leaning toward the Rainsong anyway because they have more options as far as body styles go. Thanks for the reply.
