fingers are better than pics

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

fingers are better than pics

I find I only use a pic when I absolutely need to...especially on Dave songs...I hear guys like Gcom talking about it too...it is funny how I changed...curious what you guys thought...

i'll go either way, but pick usage is kinda of funny... i have two friends, one rarely ever uses a pick and one can not play without one.. guess which one is about a thousand times better? the pickless one :D

im glad i practiced both ways...

well I just got decent at rythmatic fingerpicking (as opposed to classical style) as of last year by learning alot of Keller Williams and his style...now I can apply my new skill to almost any new piece...

I like being in complete control of each strings sound too...you can pick and choose which you want to hear and how loud...

I really vary a ton...I switch around going on whatever I feel...I'm strong enough with both now that I don't have a problem playing any song either way and often play them both ways while in the same session or whatever. I like fingers on acoustic though...sounds nice. it's nice on electric too for slower blues soloing, good for chicago style, let's you play clean and you can really pluck it...on a strat (which is the only good electric out there, screw les pauls and humbuckers) using the neck and middle pickup position...wow...mmm...such a round sound you can sink your teeth into it and fingerplucking/picking only adds to the mouthwatering taste of it all...

i can play both ways...but i play better with pick. the only reason i really use a pick is because I have an acoustic and not an a/e, and i can't get very good projection without the pick..and i bite my fingernails.

I've never used a pick unless absolutely necessary....I'm too stupid and loose them all! But seriously....I've never used them except on video's because they mess up my overall style. Any video's on the site or the DVD are usign a pick to give it that extra ping......oh well, that's me

i'm not fire, but here's some suggestions nonetheless...

Brunette, Freaker By the Speaker, Eyes of The World (as recomended by fire  ), Thin Mint, Breathe, Best Feeling, Dark Star... just do a general search for keller williams, you usually can't go wrong...
