Crush standard vs. drop d

Unread post by czech » Fri Jan 21, 2005 11:31 pm

i haven't looked at the tab in a long time, and don't feel like scrolling back, but i think crush is in drop D tuning. anyone ever play the standard tuning way? I almost think it sounds better playing it the same way as the correct tuning but as standard. I don't like changing my tuning, i'm lazy and border line tone deaf. But i play it both ways and the standard tab just doesnt sound good to me.

It doesn't sound good because it was meant to be played in drop D.

for me it sounds better in drop d. that way i automatically mute when needed to be muted. and i don't really like the open D sound with the song.

I *think* he's saying that it sounds good to him playing the Drop-D (correct) tab, but without tuning to Drop-D.

exactly, what was hard about that one

if you play the correct tab (for drop D tuning) on your standard EADGBE tuned guitar it sounds better to me than playing the tab for standard tuning on your standard tuned guitar.

The tim reynolds part is in standard, though, check out the tim reynods part thread and it will be there.
