Next time go back and actually read this thread before you start throwing around words like judemental. No one was being judgemental or making assumptions so just STFU and bring your drama somewhere else.
We were just joking around until you come in and proclaimed some bullshit. Sorry if I'm flipping my top but I've had this happen one too many times.
Whatever dude, as far as I'm concerned this thread was turning into a pissing match between who could and could not play the song quicker than others. And by your reaction I'd say you're on your period, not me.
I was just stating what I observed. /shrug I dunno, I thought my reply was relativly neutral. Guess not. Whatever though, bygones.
pretty sure that was just an example, jack ass. definitely a relative post.... my friendMWR wrote:Yeaaah riiiiight...im gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you there. That wasn't it at all. If anything I was just emphasising how difficult the song is. Saying someone could "pick it up" in a few days is presumptuous and silly. This isn't a Dave Matthews song we're talking about.Teego Time wrote:MWR wrote:Oooh does your vagina hurt?Teego Time wrote:God guys quit being so judgemental and stop making soo many assumptions. Besides when did I ever say that I could play this in such and such a time? You just misunderstood completely. I also like to rag on Praisedave because that's the relationship we have. It's all in good fun. Anyway I'm over it, bygones sounds good to me.

Sort of but my definition of "playing" something is probably different.
This all goes back to the original issue. I never really tried tapping before this song so it was insurmountable. I could get the intro and the part after it decent at best but that complex taps against the chords is too much. I'd have to spend a lot more time on it and I wasn't THAT into learning the song. You gotta draw the line somewhere and say "maybe I should slowly incorporate this kind of stuff before I jump into some advanced shit".

see, (keep in mind im not you), i think if anybody on these boards has the skill to attempt the tapping, its you. no offense, and i may be wrong, but i think you overthink things. if you practice you can learn to do it. if your not into it then thats a different story. id love to see oyu pull it off.MWR wrote:Sort of but my definition of "playing" something is probably different.

In all seriousness I'd be a major hyporcrite if I didnt' take my own advice. Like I've said before it's vital to start with something more rudimentary and build up. That's what has worked so far and that's what I've read time and time again. Maybe later on if I've incorporated a bti of his style into my playing I'll go back to it but I don't want to break my neck learning something that's clearly beyond me.
but your a crazy fingerpickerer, youve got a great foudation. my "guitar building" has like floor 1, 2, then a bunch of 2x4's then floor 23.MWR wrote:That's sweet of you.praisedave wrote:see, (keep in mind im not you), i think if anybody on these boards has the skill to attempt the tapping, its you. no offense, and i may be wrong, but i think you overthink things. if you practice you can learn to do it. if your not into it then thats a different story. id love to see oyu pull it off.MWR wrote:Sort of but my definition of "playing" something is probably different.

...and you might eventually regret it. Depends on who it is and how you learn I guess.
I don't know we'll see. I'll mess around with it a little more and see where it get's me.
I've been playing some Don Ross stuff which isn't that much easier but it's definately different and more my style.
