The best way to become an authority is to be a college student with a major that doesn't require any work (business is best.) Or if you're not in college, make sure you're unemployed. Or sporadically employed. Not having real friends seems to help a lot of people reach authority status. Depression seems to relate directly as well.

business is a very easy major. it's kind of like political science. meaningless unless you really specialize in an area and go to grad school for it. sure, you can work yourself to the bone for a business degree, but you can pull a 4-point without doing much work at all, so there's no point.

an area such as what... like economics, accounting, management etc...?
