Wasn't BS just the lillywhite sessions revised? I mean...the lillywhites were just an experimental recording thing.

Lillywhites were supposed to be an album. For one reason or another (Dave was depressed, Carter wasn't feeling it, Band was burnt out, ect) they decided to call it off. They were always intent on going back to them, but the original attempt was supposed to be a record.

Agreed! So you like LWS better right??? I remember when I first got the LWS it was in mp3 format from Napster like someone else mentioned. And I just loved JTR, then I downloaded the shn files of the LWS and that song sounded 10x better. It almost seemed impossible to sound that much better the first time I heard it.

I'm sooooo confused. In the covers section of this website i found John The Revelator. The lyrics are VERY similiar to JTR, but i noticed that John The Revelator is under covers, but it says originally performed by Dave Matthews Band. :?: :?:

I believe John The Revelator is a song by Carlos Santana. I think Dave reworked it a bit and started to call it JTR during the LWS. Not 100% sure about that though.

JTR
History:
*original tune adapted from really old song which was first recorded (not written) by gospel blues slide guitarist Blind Willie Johnson on April 20, 1930....
Here's all you want to know about LWS.

LWS has Monkey Man, I wish they would play this live. I bought a cheap 12 string just to play that and JTR, Bartender
