Bongos help please.

I just picked up some bongos because I figure they'd be fun to jam with a friend, and also when I make recordings, it would give a bit more depth as opposed to just having an acoustic track. I seem to be having trouble, however figuring out the correct technique in striking them. Every site I've searched for brings up a book, DVD, etc. and doesn't say anything helpful. Any help?

use your fingertips, not your palms

play them naked. its the only way.
but yeah, basically, u use your fingers, like your drumming on the edge of a table

Yes, that and it helps to strike them rythmically also.

I used to use bongos but wasn't satisfied with their sound. try congas like jeffro said. Do you have abywhere near where people do drum circles? I suggest getting with those groups and learning from them.
