I got a friend that HATES DMB....
I also met someone with great musical taste (beatles, Counting Crows, etc.) but only likes #41 by DMB. He loves the band but says dave is the worst popular music singer...b/c of the falsetto's. I'll admit that dave isnt the most technically proper singer but he is still awesome.

i agree, and i try to convince people that. It is understandable that his voice takes time getting used to at first, but they keep complaining that they can't understand a word he's singing. I can understant him find.Bartender2424 wrote:Dave might not be 'proper' when he sings, but he is by far THE most unique singer around in popular music. Who else does Daves little voice fills, or the scats or the flsettos, etc, etc.

I've learned that you just can't change people's musical tastes.....
I was at a local saloon not so long and me and
a guy at the bar got to talking music. He tells me that in a
couple of weeks he's going to see Matchbox Twenty
for like the fourth time this year (well, actually last year)
I tell him that's pretty cool except for the fact
that's it Matchbox Twenty. He asks me what's
my favorite band. I tell him DMB, and he says," Now, that's
the shittiest band ever." Right then and there I
decided I won't fight over people's musical tastes anymore.

I'm not saying that people can't change their taste in music. Good lord, in eighth grade, I was listening to Motley Crue and Poison and thought they were the best bands ever. All I was trying to say was sometimes it's just not worth the fight. It's pointless. I mean, I wish everybody could understand just how important and influential Dylan has been to music, yet some people can't stand him. So is it worth the time and effort to go on some crusade to try to get everybody to like Dylan as much as I do?Swe dmbfan wrote:wrong!bartrum wrote:I've learned that you just can't change people's musical tastes.....I was at a local saloon not so long and me and

Some people just don't like DMB. Music seems like something that everyone has differing opinions on, yet everyone gets so pissed when people insult their favorite band. I usually don't give a shit when favorite bands of mine are ripped on or insulted by people. Who the fuck cares if someone doesn't like the same stuff you do? There are plenty of posts on this board that I see where people rip on bands that I like, and I don't get all pissed about it.
