Typical Situation

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Typical Situation

Unread post by Teego Time » Mon Jan 17, 2005 1:17 am

This is my favorite D&T song. Its just soo... perfect.

Anyways, for some reason I cannot make it sound like when D&T play it. I can get the verse close, but the chorus is way off. /shrug

Anyone esle have the same prob?

And does anyone else have any different versions of Typical Situation?

the tabs on the site work out with most versions of the song. sometimes, i think, dave does something different with the chorus. i don't think its anything major but sometimes it does sound differnt. it could just be tim filling in some spaces in the song, that's pretty "typical" of tim :)
i don't have any great ideas though, sticking with the tab on the site is guarenteed to sound correct.

Oh I'm confident in the tab. I was wondering if there's any technique or anything special about it.

Even though you want to play it D&T style because thats your favorite way, listen to a Dave solo version and see if you sound like that. Youre not gonna be able to make it sound like a D&T version because thats two (very skilled guitarists, who have been playing that song forever) playing it.
