I'm just trying to help this man save his money, or make a better investment. If he doesn't want to take my advice thats fine with me.

If he didn't know it existed until he saw it on the internet, then he obviously hasn't played one. That means he has no idea what the sound is like. Giving him fair warning that a 110E is not the Taylor he thinks it is isn't telling him his opinions are wrong (because it's impossible for him to have an opinion).
well if he has any plans to buy an acoustic guitar without playing it hes clinically retarded. he may have seen pne at a store or something, i choose to give him the benefit of the doubt. but the people that are like "dont buy one, they suck, you just want the taylor name, etc." just annoy me. They dont know why hes buyin one
Ha, grow up my man. It's a shit guitar thats wayyyyy overpriced. Theres nothing wrong with it cuz it says Taylor on it. Its just the fact that I wouldn't want anyone to waste their money on a guitar that isn't even all solid wood. You can get a much better guitar for your money if you look.
i agree, but he may not, you should present your opinions as just that, opinions, not the word of god.

THOU SHALT NOT BUYETH THE GUITAR BECAUSETH I SAY IT SUCKETH

and im not speaking about you specifically speen
take your advice, you two have opinions, just that, opinions.

theres better for the price. thats what weve been trying to tell you the entire thread. youre seeing the name and thinking that itll give you this great guitar for the money, when in fact you can find a guitar thats just as good for several hundred less.

All i care about a guitar is its playability and sound. Whats your opinions on good guitars at 600-900$

there were some good ideas in this thread and more:

Alvarez
Takamine
Simon & Patrick
Norman
Michael Kelly

AND ALSO:

youll not find a great pickup system unless you:
a) get a high end guitar
b) install it yourself

just some food for thought. what guitar(s) do you have now?

hmm... ive given this advice a lot, and i dont know how many people follow it, but im gonna say it again:

save up and wait to get a nice guitar. if youre in the $800 range you can even wait until you get up a few hundred more and get yourself an all wood guitar as opposed to a partial laminate. Bob Taylor said that the 300 series is 90% of the 900 series.

yeah, the 200 series is all wood too. The 300s are around $1500. i love the taylor 214. But i need electronics in it, so a 214E.

i would love spend money on a guitar over 1000$, but the fact that i am entering college in 2006, my mom thinks i am just wasting money on a guitar.
