well see thats what makes it hard, i just got a new acoustic amp, like reaal fuckin nice, and id get an a/e seagul, and carry my amp anyway... but i dont have a thin body acoustic yet. just an electric, and an acoustic. so im gonna go in and just play allot of both and see what fits me.

exactly, like originally i wanted a chet, but 1.) cant hear them too well unplugged. 2.)only tone and volume controls. 3.)heavy, and somewhat cumbersome 4.)its a nice guitar, but i dont want to have to explain a million times why i got it, not just cause dave had one... but originally thats all id have money for...

but now im gonna have more cash!! so i want the godin.
i like the godin because 1.)its hollow, and has a hole under the neck so you can hear it nicely unplugged. 2.) has tones of sound controls and comes with a really nice pickup system. 3.) since its hollow, its much lighter, and as a stage guitar thats a really nice quality. 4.) it looks really nice, and its somethin no one else plays, or has .

so i mean the godin really outweighs the chet since im gonna have the money.

Don't worry about having something someone else does... if you like the chet and are worried about people saying you only got it because of dave, tell them to eat a dick.[/b]

its not that, its that im the only acoustic person i jam with... all of them have strats... and i dont want people to say "man, will just got that guitar cause dave played it" when for a few more bucks i can get a superior instrument that no one plays.

ive played the a6 unplugged, it sounds pretty good, doesnt sound like amazing or anything. but it has a really nice sound considering its a thinbody with a very small sound hole, and it having to resonate out of the preamp area.

I'd advise against getting a seagull. I own one, and while the tone and volume are excellent for the price, the neck is too frickin wide. I know you think it won't pose a problem, but as you get better it will. Trust me.

Get a simon&patrick or art&lutherie (both are made by godin, same parent company that makes seagull.) They have the same tone as seagulls, but the playability is better.

EDIT: as for cedar tops, the tone is great, but the it doesn't really hold up as well under aggressive strumming if that's what you do a lot of. Gets a little mushy. But the soft and medium stuff sounds a lot better than spruce, imho.
