for the most part, yes you are correct (sometimes they are referred to as S-holes)...but this guitar does in fact have F-holescrash_in_to_me wrote:haha, it took me a while to get that, but youre a clever guyRicky the Pilot wrote:A holes ?crash_in_to_me wrote:what other kind of hole would they be?

i owned a Gibson ES-137 a while back and I found the sustain of the guitar to be much warmer and cleaner if I taped over the F-holes. Due to small stages and clutter, this guitar was also prone to some feedback issues (when not desired), so taping over the holes was a quick and simple remedy. I guess when push comes to shove, musicians have to pass on the aesthetic aspects and go with what works. Sort of how DM taped over his controls on his Chet Atkins SST, not for feedback obviously, but so he can do his two-step dance and freak out on the guitar and not mess up Monk's work.Dancing Ants wrote:why the hell would you tape over fholes? they're beautiful.
Those must be some very skinny F-holes then. That black tape he has over them doesn't look very thick.T714 wrote:for the most part, yes you are correct (sometimes they are referred to as S-holes)...but this guitar does in fact have F-holescrash_in_to_me wrote:haha, it took me a while to get that, but youre a clever guyRicky the Pilot wrote:A holes ?crash_in_to_me wrote:what other kind of hole would they be?

nah, if Taylor was so concerned about that, they wouldn't have prototyped the guitar to Mraz in the first place...shane wrote:theyre not F-holes!BigSpeen3436 wrote:Those must be some very skinny F-holes then. theres also a possible chance that mraz put on the tape to keep people from seeing the new holes til NAMM.
