New Song Time

Unread post by I'mWithFatjack » Wed Jul 16, 2003 2:51 pm

I Say we do another song contest but we do it right, we get enough contestants and we post all over the site to ensure that we get more than 30 votes. I say its worth another try because i had a great time doing it and i'm sure everyone else did as well.

Laughter come on downtown window
And we see faces walking back
Tonight everybody gonna remember
Remember in time...

I'm down! but i think we should expand the length of time for submissions in order for there to be enough notice, and there will naturally be a bigger build up of excitement for the big 'vote' day... we should change the guidelines a little bit more...make it best 'cover song' of a dave song in general...like you're own version, with/without band, with/without effects, etc. just the best you feel you can provide...(however, i don't know if this would pose a bandwidth problem or not..i'm not too familiar with that type of stuff) just a suggestion though

yeah, but we don't want to participate in a newbie contest... not bashing newbies or anything, but I wouldn't call myself that...

no you guys do your own thing, i don't really want to do lie in our graves anyway... besides we'll just post what we do and have everyone tell us what they think, not really looking to "win" with music anyway...

btw, i kinda felt like the last contest was a flop anyway (not even 20 votes). oh, plenty of people viewed the thread and listened to the songs, but did anyone have the balls to vote? NO! Quit being pussies and just reading stuff people: POST!!! (this isn't just regarding recording, i'm kind tired of seeing people signup and never post! we don't care what you have to say, just say it! this is a forum for discussion right?)

Nancies is boring

at least the Stone keeps you busy

something fingerpicking like...that can be expanded on...I personally would love something like:

I'll Back You Up
Seek Up
or even Digging A Ditch...<- that song is so underated!

seek up will be true vocal test for any willing participants...this is a good song to do, but we may be in for some nightmares vocally...all good though, best efforts will be put forth...soft songs are tough to match vocally, with the low pitch...we shall see

seek up with fingerpicking would be cool, just think of the outro that timmy does in L@LC
