hold your finger ontop of it while tuning up to keep tha string in there, when it gets tight itl hold

thats the thing, no matter how tightly and how many times I wind it around, the string is so damn skinny it just has a mind of its own and doesn't stay

duct tape fixes everything... i dont know how it applies to this siuation... try putting a little dogear of ducttape around the end of the string to give it something for which to grip the tuner with

I had this problem also, just do the pliers thing. Bend it so it has a corner and then wind it about 4 or 5 times so it can't slip. My cousin has a stratocaster and it was doing the same thing and that worked. So I hope that helps Sarah.
