Figured id drop this in here...

Unread post by mangold » Mon Jan 10, 2005 10:53 pm

figured id put this in here and see if i can get any comments... slap intro to phunkiphied. i been workin on it for too long. heres what i think i messed up, feel free to add to the list:
1) too fast
2) inconsistent harmonic across 12
3) inconsistency in fast hammer rolls 0-3-5

plus, my recording guitar (epi chet) dont record slap too well, so it doesnt really have that bite that most slap does. it sounds better on my acoustic.

any comments welcome, im just tryin to get better at it.

its guitar but thanks... and i still think i should slow it down a bit, make it a more jazzy riff than an angry riff.

thanks man, im tryin to work at playin it at a better pace, but when i practiced it, i set up a click track in audacity tha did 16 measures at 60 bpm and then 16 at 70, 80, and so on up to 110, which is about the pace of the song, then i practiced along with that to get good at it. so i have a tendency to play faster and faster and faster without even really realizing it... im workin on it tho.. thanks for the comment

man, that was really good. u gotta keep tempo and then you will be golden!
Listen, dont worry if it doesnt sound JUST like justin's... its sounds impressive, and if i saw some one play that i would be like "wow". ( play it like what you did just better kept tempo)
So.. i say congratulations! You have one of those songs to put under your belt to play for people when they first hear you to make them think you are amazing.
excellent work.
