ANTs... timing and time signature

Unread post by ghorn » Sat Jan 08, 2005 9:05 pm

Ants Marching - absolutely have to play this song... I recently bought the live a luther college and it rocks... so I wanna try and play it at a local Jam night...(dont know how it would go with out tim's part done, but I'll try)

I'm just starting to get the hang of it - its only the 2nd DMB song I've learnt but I'm having trouble with the timing - and getting it upto speed

FIrst I thought it was in 4/4, and I listening to the CD I set the metronome to 112 - but sometimes it seems to fit 3/4 better (1--2-and-3-and)...

does anyone know the correct signature and tempo?

Its 4/4. Because there are no drums the rhythm might deviate somewhat. I think they slow down by the time thet get to timmy's slide solo.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
