I'm getting a Fishman nat 2 installed in my Yairi. I was going to run it through a DoD Acoustec processor so do I still need the pre-amp?
I also have a Fishman Neo sound hole pick up that I don't need anymore so if anyone wants to make an offer I could send it to you.

Not positive, but I don't think a pre-amp is a necessity. I think that processor you speak of should do the trick.

the matrix has a built-in preamp in the end-pin, and it is an active system...i think u are referring more towards tone shaping, such as an active volume, treble, and bass controls, such as that provided by an onboard blender...you should have that on your DOD processor...if not, I use an LR Baggs Mixpro, which is readily available online at Shoreline Music for under $100...or simply rely on your amp or a good PA system for all your tone shaping needs...

I got my guitar back from the shop and it plays like a dream now. I had him install a Fishman Nat 2 and do a setup and fret dressing. It plays like a new guitar now.
Matt thanx for the reference for Ruggiero's. He definitly knows what he is doing. Couldn't be happier.
