Does Anyone Have an Opinion on Epiphone Acoustics?

Unread post by CWMCALL » Thu Dec 30, 2004 10:15 am

I am looking for a nice, but inexpensive guitar. A nice "beater" if you will. I kind of like the looks of the Epiphone Hummingbird but I have not been able to find one to play or listen to. It definitely has a different look than my Martin D-15 or my Taylor 314ce ltd.

Any opinions on the playability of Epiphone Acoustics would be appreciated. Or any other suggestions on decent guitars in the $250 - $450 price range.

Thanks

a hummingbird as a beater. Not bad. Nothing compared to a Gibson one, but for a beater. It's a bit too good for a beater, lol. I'd get that or the EJ-160E John Lennon. Those would be quality beaters.

My first guitar was an epiphone acoustic and my opinion on them is that they make for some excellent firewood.

I have an Epiphone acoustic for my beater, and I like it. Now that it's been played for almost 8 years, it actually is starting to get a decent sound to it. I mostly just keep it in open D tuning all the time, and take it with me on camping trips and such.

It's strongbad. It's from a recent strongbad e-mail, where he wonders what he would be like as other creatures. This was the first version he showed. It's creepy, so I captured it and put it in my sig :)
