satellite chorus "Winter's cold...."?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

satellite chorus "Winter's cold...."?

Unread post by tjmac66pc » Wed Jul 09, 2003 9:16 am

:x I'm getting extremely frustrated with trying to learn the 'Winter's cold...' chorus part of satellite... this may be tough, but can anyone explain the slide or the trick to playing this part Dave's style... it may be my timing, or that i'm just going about it all wrong... if anyone knows finger placements for this too, that would help...thanks to anyone

It's a lil tricky

Unread post by DMB2718 » Wed Jul 09, 2003 10:55 am

It's tricky because he's playing a different beat than in most of his songs. I believe this one is in 6's instead of 4's. The first part needs to be played very quick and there is a slide from the 6th fret to the 8th. I wish I could explain this better, but it is very tough without a one on one type deal.

I think I may post my video clips of Satellite from the Demo DVD that I sent to DMB Management. I need to figure out bandwidth becuase they are huge files and I would like everyone to be able to see the full quality images. I'll see what I can do though...later

Great call TBill......hmmmmm, it may just get out after all :) I just need to re-encode with audio and de-interlace it. DVD specs show that audio and video have to be seperated so I don't have the good quality clips w/ audio to it. I also want to find a way to put the 2 video's side by side(as 1 big video) so you can see the synching. Anyone help with that?!?!? I have premiere and after effects. HELP....it's for all your benefit!!!

Can you do it in FCP??? It's basiacly the same thing. I didn't think you could put 2 video's side by side on there but I could be wrong. Lemme know becuase if it can be done in FCP....it can be done in Premiere(btw.....Apple's RULE for Multimedia. I am using DVD Studio Pro for the DVD...amazing program. Wish I could afford FCP but $500 for DVDSP is the max I could spend....gotta love freeware :) )

Premiere is freeware? Ahhhh, the world since napster.

But yes, Macs do rule for multimedia. And for everything else. Period.

actually i just realized that besides the school ones (which i think are iMacs... those are the ones with the see through color cases right?) that thats the only one ive been on... the school ones are better than that, but they seemed to have trouble loading stuff on the internet and they often got disconnected.. maybe its just that ive never been able to try a good one... :|
