Yup :) 714 for Raised B and 914CE's for everythign else. That is unless he's gone with a different setup this tour
Well, technically, doesn't Dave actually use the 914c, only with a pickup installed? if it were a 914ce, it would have onboard electronics, which I don't think Dave's guitars have.
This should do it: http://www.dmband.com/band/band_eqlist.asp?member=Dave I think that settles it, I would hope that site would be accurate.

they can just take it off without hurting the finish or anything?

I would be the one to take it off...

with a hairdryer and such...if I do it soon, the color wouldn't change much...many people do it after years without but a shadow that you can barely see...I think they look classier...

Fire.....dude.... i think that's a bad idea, it's a beautiful guitar and the pickguard is damn sweet. Dont do it man..

My martin HD35 is my first decent guitar with a pickguard and I think it looks amazing. I have a cort with a natuaral finish like your taylor and it doesn't have a pickguard, it's kinda annoying.

I say keep it.

HendrixWS.....want some advice? Go to a guitar shop and play every guitar you can see.
Everyone has their own tastes, I like alot of bass and tonal clarity when playing so I went with a HD-35. The 3 piece back gives it exactly what I was looking for..
If you want something brighter, go for a taylor..

the way to tell would be to get a CLOSE pic of the soundhole and read the label...if he installed his own pickups it would just read C...

which would be pretty hard, the feedback busters block the soundhole.

u cant argue with the dmband website...it is a 914c not a ce...as his techs (or someone) installs the pickups aftermarket to get what they want
which would be pretty hard, the feedback busters block the soundhole.
As for that, if that was referring to the fact that he couldnt install a pickup because the soundhole was blocked, well then thats just wrong. He installs a fishman natural matrix II i believe which is a bridge pickup not a soundhole...even if it was a 914ce, it still uses the same kind of pickup with an additional condenser mic if its a blended fishman.

Either way, its a 914c.

And whats this whole raised B thing? Is that supposed to subsitute for playing a baritone?...cause dave has his custom taylor baritone for that, no need to play a 714 in raised b

Perhaps reading the posts would be in order?

Fire said the way to find out whether it was a c or ce was to look inside the soundhole for the label. The soundholes on all of Dave's guitars are covered by feedback busters. Thanks for trying to look smart, though.

Raised B is a different tuning than baritone. When Dave plays raised B (which can be found on YNK, SOL), he plays it on a 714 with the strange string setup tuned to Raised B. So... yes, I guess it's a substitute for baritone since it's a different tuning.
