I just like the stripped down sound of the first album.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

same here.. once you get that basic strumming pattern down.. you know most of his songs. i found a pretty fun way to play sexi plexi by tapping every bass note, rather than every other... using the jm thumb tapping method

kcw wrote:Jack Johnson has the easiest songs to play ever. I sat down with On and On today because i thought id learn a new song. And by ear mind you within a half an hour i had three new ones learned. The hardest song on that cd is Taylor and once you get past the intro its easy.

Dont get me wrong i love Jack Johnson. Its amazing when you make something so simple sound so good. He is an awesome songwriter.

The Jack Johnson songs i know now are:

Taylor
Gone
Cupid
Times Like These
Cookie Jar
Traffic In The Sky

Traffic In The Sky kills the hand though. The rest are really easy except the intro to Taylor is a bit difficult but not so much after you get it. I was surprised at how simple his songs were.
i just love to play: times like these, cookie jar and traffic in the sky.
i´m thinking about doing a medley of those and put them up.

does anybody have the tabs for f-stop blues. I've seen some, but they don't sound quite right.

i went to a couple of his concerts in september. he played one new one called banana pancakes, which was pretty similar to his normal mellow playing, but was still good. i can't find an audio for it though. that song inspired me to make and try banana pancakes, and i must say... delicious.

EDIT: found an audio file on kazaa. only place i could find it

It's no secret that JJ's songs are easy, but they're also remarkably fun to sing and play. His lyrics and rhythms are what make his songs great, I only wish that he would hurry up and make a new album.

I also heard the song Banana Pancakes played live, and I thought it was....meh.

try looking for it at archive.org

also, if you like Jack Johnson, you should definately check out donovan frankenreiter. Him, Jack, and G.love all play together on a lot of songs. I've seen them all in concert a few times, and i must say that Donovan should be just as mainstream / famous as JJ.

Yes, Donovan F blew me away. He was soooo damn good, they grooved hard. His little organ player was da shit.
