My Ants Marching Cover.... WOOT WOOT
My Ants Marching Cover.... WOOT WOOT
i took all of your comments from my stone cover into consideration. i took mwr's advice and recorded singing seperate, so it may be a bit off as far as alignment. i did a weird thing with the intro, if it sucks just tell me cause it might. 2 guitars in the beginning. Matt guest stared on bass (jazzbassistsomethin). me sing betta this time i think.

Your voice needs some work but don't give up, we've all been there.
Firstly, you're talking instead of singing and secondly the vocal melody isn't really there either. I'd recommend listening to the song a few more times paying most attention to daves voice. I'm not saying mimic him, because you should sing in your own voice, but try sing it in the right octave.
The guitar and bass wasn't bad at all.
Keep singing and posting.

The instrumentation is good. I think the overall problem is that you're too tense. It's like you're trying to avoid fucking up notes but at the same time you're not taking any risks or putting any real emotion into it. This should come with time though you should always be thinking about it.
I would comment on your singing but technically you're not singing. All of the notes are sitting way too low in your register. Judging by the tone of your voice you should be able to hit all of these notes comfortably save the falsetto ones. You've some how tricked yourself into thinking you're a bass.
All of your vocal problems stem from excess tension. The problem with Dave is that he hardly ever uses vibrato and it's a very good litmus test for vocal technique.
You should buy a book on singing technique. Roger Loves "Set your Voice Free" is great for begginers.

It was a good cover, I don't like the way you play the chorus, but it works out well(not really play, but sing/ play it at the same time) and I suggest maybe putting the funk intro on there for some good effect, it'd be sweet with the bass

The playing was pretty solid, but a little too rigid...there wasn't any percussion in the strum at all. No "chickas" if you know what I'm sayin. You're playing the right notes, but the song feels dead.
The voice, well, you've had good suggestions for that already.
Solid, but try to loosen up a bit. It'll help if you ever want to play like justin king.

hey man, i first minute was decent, the rest was really weird in my opinion. the verse guitar is too technical, not much rhythm. you know what to do with your voice and thats fine. the way you play your verse gets annoying after the first minute imo. at the end it sounds like you're rapping, which is a lil funny. sorry anyway, keep posting! good effort.
oh yeah, moveeee upppp your octave! good day.
