New DMB Fansite

Unread post by Jake » Mon Jun 30, 2003 4:09 pm

Hey guys...

Check out this pretty new DMB fansite, TrippingBillies.org. It's got tour dates, setlists, real time setlists, DaveSpeak, message boards, live chat and more.

Hope to see you there...

not that i'm bashing the site or anthing..but it doesn't really offer any more than any of the others....

i have been lately been seeing some new sites get started and i'm worried that they won't have the turnout that some of the others already have (minly ants.org and nancies.org)

good luck though....i hope it works the site could be amazing and become the most visited but don't be too discouraged if it gets but a few people...

peace,

Yeah dude. You're a little late in the game. There are already two primary (Nancies and Antsmarching) DMB Fan sites plus countless others. Believe me I know how hard it is to get a Web site off the ground (I've been running one since 1998). The reason this site is so successful is because it's truly a niche that nobody else has filled yet (strictly DMB guitar). It's the first and probably always be the biggest and best. You need to find your niche to be successful. Good luck though. There are plenty of Dave fans and if you can offer something the others don't, it'll probably take off. Good luck!

Looks 50% like nancies.org and 50% like antsmarching.org. How un-original. OH well, it is still a fan site so I am down with it.

i'm down with it too....it's just it's gonna be hard for him...plus there is the bridge as well...so between the 3 you really need to have something that they don't.....

ants.org has the show downloads
nancies.org has the legacy (it was recognized on VH1 or something)
The Bridge has the whiners and complainers

Yes, it does....honestly though, please no more bashing the site for any reason. There's really no need to do that to a site regardless of what ya think...he wanted to start a nice little community and good for him, regardless if he used another site's layout(which happens all the time).

Now, does this website remind you of anything http://wam.umd.edu/~jkanter/fakeid/ yes, that story is real....yes it happened to me. But I had to create that website as part of my punishment. I did it in about 4hrs from 4am - 8am (1.5yrs ago) and it was due at 8am! lata all

LOL! That's hilarious kanter... btw, my comment wasn't meant to bash, just stating fact.

EDIT: Okay, wait, I just realized that came out totally wrong... I meant the fact that you rpd the AM.org layout was hilarious, not what happened to you. Sorry bout the confusion.

That truly sucks kanter. Sorry that happened.

Strange though, that you never mentioned the consequences of pot. Possibly because it isn't a real crime.

Forget I said that. It belongs in another thread. Maybe that's what the new fan website needs. A forum dedicated to gettin down with the cheeba!

For some reason, I think that might actually fly on a dmb site. ;)

I'm just trying to do my thing. We are offering a bunch of cool DMB downloads to our members, but what other things do you guys think we could to do help "fill our niche"?

Thanks...
