Eureka! Freeker Tab ACCURATE

Unread post by mangold » Sat Dec 11, 2004 4:31 pm

I have been trying for an awful long time to find a decent freeker tab and have been dis-satisfied with the ones around. The K-dub one comes closest, but the tab leaves too much for the player to figure out. So i made one, i slowed it down by 35% and i got every note. I am confident!

Code: Select all

Keller Williams
Freeker By The Speeker Tab
By Andy Mangold

KEY
^ - Bend when used in tab, beat when used above it
x - Muted note, if all strings are muted it’s a tap
h - Hammer-On
p - Pull-Off
/ - Slide Up
\ - Slide Down
~ - Vibrato

TUNED ONE STEP DOWN!

Intro (played mostly in the beginning and when there are no vocals) *This is the base of what Keller plays*
   ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
D|-----------x-------------------------------------------------0-0-0-0---0-0-0-0-----|
A|-----------x---------------------------------------x-x-x-x---x-x-x-x---x-x-x-x-----|
F|-----------x-----1---1-----------------------------x-x-x-x---6-6-6-6---4-4-4-4-----|
C|-----------x-----2---2---------0-------------------x-x-x-x---7-7-0h7---5-5-0h5-----|
G|-----------x-----2---2-----0h2-----2-2/-/5~~~~~----x-x-x-x-------------------------|
D|\0---------x-----0---0-------------------------------------------------------------|
                                                               See Note One

Variation 1 (played throughout entire song) *This is the a slight variation he also uses*
   ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
D|-----------x-------------------------------------------------------0---------0-----|
A|-----------x---------------------------------------x-x-x-x-------------------------|
F|-1---------x---------------------------------------x-x-x-x-----6---------4---------|
C|-2---------x-------------------0h2p0---------------x-x-x-x---7---7-----5---5-------|
G|-2---------x---------------0h2-------2/-/5~~~~~----x-x-x-x-------------------------|
D|\0---------x-----0---0-------------------------------------------------------------|
                                           See Note Two

Variation 2 (played at more energetic parts of the song) *This is something I play, but not necessarily something Keller plays*
   ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
D|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------x-x-x-x---5-5-5-5---5/10--------|
F|-1---x--x--x--x--1---1-----------------------------x-x-x-x---6-6-6-6---6-----------|
C|-2---x--x--x--x--2---2---------0h2p0---------------x-x-x-x---7-7-7-7---7-----------|
G|-2---x--x--x--x--2---2-----0h2-------2/-/5~~~~~----x-x-x-x-------------------------|
D|\0---x--x--x--x--0---0------------------------------------------------------12\--\-|

Note One: I often to very fast hammers on 7 on C with my index finger through this section to sound more like Keller

Note Two: Sometimes Keller plays a 5th fret harmonic after the 2/5 slide

Keller tweaks what he plays so much that coming up with a perfect tab is impossible, but I feel that I have come pretty close. Try adding some more slides and hammers when you get good at playing this. Thanks!

Great tab, and sometimes Keller throws in a 5th fret harmonic after the 2-5 slide
