trippin billies (DMB cover band)

Unread post by mraz698 » Sun Dec 12, 2004 7:26 pm

Just curious to see what people think of DMB cover bands. There is a group that comes through Minneapolis called "trippin billies". I've seen em a few times, they do a nice job, the singer looks alot like dave, sounds like him too, kinda weird; haven't seen dave in concert though so i can't compare it, i'm sure you can't. If anybody else has seen this particular cover band I'd be interested to hear what you think of them.

They do a pretty good job. I think they have changed their line up a few times over the last couple of years. Of course nothing is as good as the band. But they definitely do a good job of covering the music, and when you have a lull from the real thing they are a good second option.

Yeah Trippin Billies has been around for a little while now! I saw them once in CT a while ago and they were on that night! Good stuff!

Saw them the other night. Got a new bassist and couldn't notice the difference. They have a violinist now that kicks ass. He really adds a ton to their show. He's this kinda dorky looking asian guy that chain smokes the entire time he's not playing...funny as hell.

i just saw them this last weekend. the violinist does really add to the show. they've had that bassist for a little while, he was up last time they played here. the last bassist was cool though, he could rip it up on his fretless bass.

guy from st. cloud, do you go to state? do you play around here at all?
