tell me I'm not going crazy.....

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

tell me I'm not going crazy.....

Unread post by gregplaysguitar » Sun Dec 12, 2004 5:29 am

So, on 9.12.04 I attended the Free DMB concert in San Fran. The concert was amazing, but we left during the second to last song because we had hours of driving to do and needed toget back on the road. So,(this is where I need your help) everytime I see a set list, or a SHN download, and even the DMB website, they have Too Much listed as the last song played, but I Swear I remember hearing it much earlier in the set. And I know I heard it because it was the first time I heard the wierd little half time eastern sounding thing in the middle. I remember saying that out loud because it was the first time I ever heard them do that. So, did they do some set list switching, or am I going crazy? I wasn't there for the last song, but it says too much was the last song. What gives?

Thanks if anyone else that was there can help me figure out what's going on.

hey man, i wasn't there but i have the show on cd and as far as i can tell with the crowd and atmosphere of the recording it seems to me that they ended the show with "stay", "everyday" and "too much". As i said before i wasn't there so maybe someone has a better answer but, that's my answer.
peace.

Awesome show. I was there, front and center, 20 ft from the stage. I have the recording from the guy standing next to me too, excellent quality. Too much certainly ended the show, but they had several neat segues throughout.... (everyday in the middle of jimi thing, i think? I liked that one...) maybe he threw some of too much into another song. I don't remember... Now I'm gonna go listen to the concert again!

BTW, they're releasing it, officially:

Well, not to spark a whole huge political thread, i'm a republican, Dave's a democrat, and when he went public about being against the war, which I supported, I thought it would be funny to photoshop a picture of dave walking behind Saddam, like he was part of his entorage. No I don't think dave is a terrorist, or anything like that, when I originally made the thread I think the joke I made was "Proof as to why dave matthews dosen't support the war" or something like that. Good times.

Seeing as how I stopped smoking herb 2 years ago, that probably isn't it. It's really freaking me out though, that I know i wasn't there, but I heard that song. Very freaky. I remember it clear as day, standing there going what the hell is this new section they are playing. Very very strange. The section i'm talking about is the half time middle eastern sounding section of Too Much. I must be losing my damn mind. Thanks to all that replied and confirmed my craziness.
