a show of hands of all the people who think John Mayer is a putz...a good musician, but a putz in every other aspect other than technique
agee......and on the show he said he doesnt write all of his songs............which is kinda shitty i thought he made up his songs. and when he said he wouldn't say what songs werent written by him i thought that was pretty shady.
I thought he was kidding about not writing his own songs....???
JM sucks, but he's good at guitar.
are you guys serious! of course he writes his own songs! he was only making a point. the guy he said wrote this songs, whos name i cant remember, i believe was some'80s pop star or in some stupid band..
come on people.. but it is funny that the girls believed him, and i feel bad for him cause i'm sure 1/2 the people watching did too. oh well..
it was funny, it reminded me of conan, when he does his stupid crazy shit... you gotta admit the part where he put on the bear suit! thats a great idea! i wish dave did that!
john is crazy, not stupid.. very bright in fact.. yes i have met him 2. enjoy the photos.. (mayer always comes up in the dave forums! lol)

I saw the whole thing and I thought it was very funny. Better than most of the shows on that channel. :/
I know he must write most of his stuff, but I suppose it's possible he could have collaberated with Richard Marx. I know who he is, but I can't find a complete list of credits so you'll just have to pick up a John Mayer CD and look at the writing credits.

I thought the show was pretty funny, it's always funny to see trick daddy acting like a goof. John definately writes all his own music, he was just trying to make those girls look stupid. They didn't need him to accomplish that, I mean calling a restaurant and singing, that was so stupid.

I htought it was funny, he was totally fucking with those girls who were his fans, everything he said he was kidding, a lot of you took him too seriously, of course he writes his own songs. Plus, he took trick daddy to a country bar and they got on stage and played some songs, that shit is funny.

No, Im aware of it. It was a typo on purpose I guess. I was just kinda humming along and that was the first thing that came to mind, but I now know it is wrong, I just dont feel like changing it. But ive played that tune three times live, but I say the chorus differently. Instead of "Momma said, think before speaking" I say, "My mistake, thank me for speaking". It goes fine and it fits the meaning.

ummm, yeah...way to take him way too seriously and miss the point...he was just messing w/ those girls heads to see what they'd say and now they get made fun of on JM and DMB message boards around the world for being stupid teenies...I'm glad John doesn't feel bad about this b/c it was really stinking funny. I thought the show was pretty good and Jack's BBQ is amazing...it's been my favorite place to eat in Nashville since I was like 9...three syllable word, starts with "D..."
