....that a guitar song is only truly good if it can be played on an acoustic alone and still sound wonderful?

Re: Do You Think Its True....?
for the past couple years I completely prefer acoustic guitar. I think it is just the natural sound, and how easy a song can sound so great with just a voice and a guitar. It's funny, cause the first guitar i ever got was an electric, because I thought that acoustic guitars were only for country musicduluoz wrote:....that a guitar song is only truly good if it can be played on an acoustic alone and still sound wonderful?

I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

the thing is that you just can't play a lot of things on accoustic. They just don't work. I can't decide which one i like more, I play them both pretty equally. Accoustic when I feel like chilling and writing, electric for when I feel like breaking a sweatcave_cricket wrote:i don't think it's true....i like some songs that rea played on electric that may not sound as good on an acoustic...duluoz wrote:....that a guitar song is only truly good if it can be played on an acoustic alone and still sound wonderful?

i like to think of electric guitars and acoustic guitars as two totally different instruments... some thinks are for electric and some for acoustic
so if you're saying that all electric songs are not good, then i dont agree with you.. not that you're wrong, just that i dont agree

I believe you can make most any song a guitar song...from listening Tim Reynolds, and seeing Phil Keaggy playing feet away from me, a solo guitarist (what I think myself to be...try to sustain without a band) needs to be able to take any song of theirs or others, and be able to play them alon without losing interest...like Dave when he plays his own songs solo...like Tim when he covers Niel Young (guitar and melody lines at the same time...), and like Phil Keaggy when he covers the Beatles...any song can be arranged (or rearranged) for any good solo guitarist...
