yes yes!!! lets pay $700 for a peice of shit that says martin on top!!

youd get that guitar for $150 or so from any smaller brand.
im not talkin from the specs, just from having played it. it sounded fine, it looked fine, it played fine. i dont think its a piece of shit and i dont think other companies could match the quality of a martin. a guitar isnt just as good as what its made of my man.

Not sure if you are familiar with them but they are a good quality guitar there are several artists that play them, Bob Weir, Warren Haynes, Ani Difranco and Carlos Santana are a few to come to mind. Only reason I mention that is because some people think they are not that nice because they are part of the Alvarez family but they are really in a different league then your normal Alvarez.

Might want to check them out I think you get close to the feel and sound of a taylor for half the price. Heres a link with some reviews on the DY-91

Best of luck in your search.

my guitar cost me less than $200, and its better than those peices of shit martins... and when they use half assed wood on mine, they dont cover it up with using the name of the picture to name the wood.

i concur. only the top is solid wood! i think low end martins are horrible, and high end martins are heaven
I think each guitar's construction is different. Hey, i played martins of the same model, and they dont sound the same. You just gotta go around and get what sound best at your price range.

if you had $600 to spend, which of these Takamine electric-acoustics would you buy? The reason I only wanna spend $600 is because this guitar is gonna be one that I take camping and such with me. I don't wanna spend a ton on it.

Personally I wouldn't get a new guitar if I was planning on using it for a beater. Secondly why would you need any electronics if you are gonna use it for camping and stuff?

Because we "camp" in a cabin that has power. Is this a good price for this guitar? I've played that model, i think, and LOVED the sound. I've actually never played a tak and didn't like the sound. I'm just not sure on prices, though.
