You know i noticed the same thing last year where he says check it boyd or whatever. Not sure exactly what he says but i noticed it and asked my older brother and he says that its just gibberish. I still disagree with him but i'd like to see what everyone else thinks.

I think on the album he says, "Check him out, Boyd!" sort of like an introduction. On L@LC, doesn't he just say, "Timmy..." which is the same thing as on Storytellers.

Anyone else think that the violin solo on that song on the album version is really quiet? I can barely hear it.

he does this on a lot of songs...on the album version of rapunzel you can hear dave say something like "come on roi, roi" before he plays his solo.
and on #36...."that's boyd" before he starts plucking, on red rocks...
he also does the "roi" thing on typical situation, but i'mnot sure if it's on the album version or not...
i think it's kinda cool...

yeah i was thinking today that the solo was quiet on the album version. maybe he was out of tune so they turned it down...billywestom wrote:Anyone else think that the violin solo on that song on the album version is really quiet? I can barely hear it.

"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

On Sweet Up and Down from the Lillies, after one of the chorus's Dave says "Sweet Up and Down BT" Then Boyd does his thang... It's real obvious but I never realized what it meant until I listened to it a few times.

Its cool isn't it. And when you finally notice it you're like "That is so obvious, how come I never noticed that before?" Its just one of those weird things. Anyway, I haven't listened to the Lillies in such a long time, I think I'm gonna dust it off and pop it in my cd player today.DMBFan63 wrote:Bigspeen, I have NEVER noticed it, but now that I heard it, I always noticed that he says BT before boyd's solo..

yeah its cool when dave hands it off to the other members,,he does it on LS during #36, when he says "boyyyyd," before the violin pluck solo
its kinda hard to make out, since he says it in 'dave speak' haha, http://www.amidreaming.org has a whole section of random unintelligible things that dave says during concert; like "um, the cow needs medical attention"
hahaha funny stuff.
