Dancing nancies

Unread post by #41fan » Wed Dec 01, 2004 9:52 pm

I got hooked on dancing nancies the first time I listened to it on L@LC. I've been playing it a little for a while but I can't get the exact same cool sound Dave plays with the G and B strings on the 2nd frets ...

anyone can help me or have some kind of trick or something??

I believe he speeds up the up and down strokes when he plays the G chord.

On the verse, For some reason---I have a lot of trouble with muting the D string with my first finger without accidentally touching A string with my middle. Anyone else have this problem---in other words, i accidentally somewhat mute the A string. the 32x4 part below---->

E:-----------
B:-----------
G:-4------4-- <---4
D:-x------4-- <---3
A:-2------x--
E:-3------2-- <---1on2

play the 44x2 as a barre chord until you get it.

for the high sounding part you don't just strum the B and E strings really fast, you hammer on them with your index finger on the 2nd fret

Code: Select all

E:-0--------2--
B:-0--------2--
G:-------------
D:-------------
A:-------------
E:-------------

It's not the 2x44 part I struggle with. It's the 32x4 with the problem being that I can't help but touch/partially mute the 2 with my middle finger????
