Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

theres a reason... if its martin and has X in the model, that means it uses HPL mahongony, or koa.... guess what HPL means? bassicaly plastic or cheap ass wood, with a nice photograph of koa on top...
not interested in that...

and yes i know itd be pre-fender, and im not against the ones fender will make, its just would you buy a car a few months before the company was gonna stop making cars? if somethin went wrong with it, oh well, companys not around anymore.

I have a Yairi Dy-91 which is handmade and I love it. I paid a little over $1000 for it. Not sure if you are familiar with them but they are a good quality guitar there are several artists that play them, Bob Weir, Warren Haynes, Ani Difranco and Carlos Santana are a few to come to mind. Only reason I mention that is because some people think they are not that nice because they are part of the Alvarez family but they are really in a different league then your normal Alvarez.

Might want to check them out I think you get close to the feel and sound of a taylor for half the price. Heres a link with some reviews on the DY-91

Best of luck in your search.
