I absolutely love 6/8 time. That is the smoothest, chillest time signature. 4/4 is way to normal. 5/4 is pretty damn awkward. 3/4, like 6/8 is also very smooth. But nothing beats a time that is defined by eighth notes man, nothing.

well i guess that just makes us special...j/k

i time signature is what sets how long the measures are in a song. most songs i western music are in a 4/4 time signature. (its what makes everyone tap their foot and say one... two...three...four...)

songs like the stone are in 6/8.

other dave songs in 6/8:

chorus of rapunzel
verse of you never know
chorus of kit kat jam
drive in drive out

listen to these songs and see if you ca tell the difference

Pink Floyd's money is in 7/4 . As weird as it is, I always loved that signature.

dude the Grateful Dead tops it all with Uncle John's Band, if you count it out it's in 15/4 time. Basically 3 normal measures of 4 and then a 4th measure but you drop the last beat. It's pretty crahzy.

i don't actually think there is such a thing... usually the three measures of 4/4 are written and then a 3/4 is added in. i don't think it goes beyond 12 in standard notation...

hey fire that song is all over the place

there was a few that i caught though, there was a little of about every oddmeter imaginable. some 11/8 and some of it felt like 7/8. that part where the drum cuts the beat out threw me off terribly tough (usually i love doing this sort of thing, but i would hate to have to arrange this on paper!)

yes i love 6/8. i actually find 12/8 and 7/4 to be really cool but it's cause i used to sing a lot of old (like hundreds of years old) songs...

hey fire i thought KKJ was in 3/4...?
