Beginner slide songs...

I've been playing for about 8 months, and I just bought a slide a little while ago but haven't used it at all really. What are some good (easy) songs to learn/practice on? I'd like to learn some Ben Harper stuff, but I can't really find a site with good tabs for him.

easiest way to get acquainted with your slide is to put your guitar in open d and just play a 12 bar and make your own fills on the slide

slide is awesome, yeah that EC unplugged got some cool slide songs. i like open G tuning better. but anyway, dont even have to tune your guitar. slide is really cool to play lead.

how do i put it in open D?

is it DADGAD? cause i've heard of that tuning before. i just don't know exctly what open D is supposed to be.

i just borrowed a slide from my friend today, and tried out rollin and tumblin, and its fun.
