Hey - make sure that you don't have "Disable BBCode in this post" checked - everything you're doing seems to be fine, this is the only thing I can think of.

"Say what ya like, say what ya think, say what ya want, anytime...except now."
Dave Matthews, in response to obnoxious f*ckers yelling in between songs
ODU - 03/26/03

Honestly, the screamers at that show made me want to rip my hair out. I still get pissed when I listen to the recording, I just dont get it. What do you get out of it, when you yell something? If dave acknowledged you after screaming something out, would you then be able to brag to your friends that you 'talked to' dave? At any rate, the show itself more than made up for the assholes in the crowd, and I say that, even though I agree that people are obnoxious, this guy needs to get over it. Daves fans are primarily college kids, like it or not, and college kids are loud. Hell, most of us wouldnt have even heard of dave if it hadnt been for the frat boys he played for in the beginning. So quityer bitchin[/i]

Hey DropD...sorry to hear that man, you must understand that no matter what you find out there you'll almost always have to put up with some shit..
Gotta let all the good that comes from DMB shine through, forget about the rest.....even if IT is screaming, WOOOOOOO, in your ear during Pay For What You Get... Dave knows it's a problem, he's been telling them to shut up forever so dont give up on the band.

keep da faith brotha :D

Sorry this post was TOTALLY OFF TOPIC!! :D

Hey "hopelessposeur",

If the dude (DropD-MB) want's to bitch about people not being respectful then let him do that. I was at the ODU show as well and it was quite annoying, actually the worst Dave performance I had ever seen. Dave was on top of his game that night, he sang strong and played brilliantly. But whats the point of paying 60 bucks for a ticket when you can't even enjoy it.

Why do you and all these other negative people on here, by negative I mean bashing Drop-D cause he doesn't agree with the scene anymore. You guys sound like a bunch of conservative neo-cons by not letting him has his own opinion.

I may be new to his message board but have been listening to DMB since I can remember (93'). The whole experience was great...in the beginning. Now It has just gone sour with disrespectful fans & high ticket prices. And for the people bashing Mayer.....You guys are complete idiots. One of the most incredible & young guitar players out there. He could rip Dave to shreds on the guitar. Vocals, I prefer Dave's but John's guitar skills are just incredible.

To prove my point. John Mayer could play anyone of Dave's songs without even thinking. Dave couldn't play any of Johns songs!

Hope I didn't stir too much stuff up......But I don't think you guys will notice cause you are way too far up into Dave's ASS.

listen man, that dave vs mayer discussion has been beaten to death so don't even bother.

and lets be realistic. why say that dave couldn't play any of mayer's songs. please... my left nut could play "your body's a wonderland"

what made you bring this up in the first place... damn... why did i bother responding.

"listen man, that dave vs mayer discussion has been beaten to death so don't even bother.

Oh I see Im not allowed to bring up discussions on a "discussion board", cause it has been brought up before. Lets see here.....Discussions about poiltical events are beaten to death everyday, Turn on your TV, Everything is beaten to death.

and lets be realistic. why say that dave couldn't play any of mayer's songs. please... my left nut could play "your body's a wonderland"

Ok, you got me there...Wonderland is very easy and Im sure its the only mayer song you can play. Congratulations. Now try playing Neon.

what made you bring this up in the first place... damn... why did i bother responding."

What made me bring what up? The fact that everybody was dissin' that dude for not listening to Dave anymore. Its called sticking up for somebody when I can concur with his thoughts on that subject. Oh and yes it is a discussion board. A place where you can say anything, Right?

I just dont see how people can't handle any negative criticism when referring to DMB. People have faults, including Dave Matthews & his four other permanent band members.

I don't think there is anything too special about Dave...it is just when somebody makes a theatrical condecending farewell along with faulty generalizations that I personaly left a few comments...to each his own...I could care less, but I think it funny to make such a deal about it

once again i will say it... NEON IS NOT THAT FREAKING HARD!

i've only been playing for two years and i can play it, without drop C.

sorry about that  just had to get it out of the way.

you do have the right to say what you want, and so do I. just please leave mayer vs dave alone. its obvious that you are new and you may not have realized that there is already a few threads on the topic, everyone's pretty much sick of it. the arguement just ends up becoming circular and the same points get made over and over again. you have made your point.

no, dave is not perfect (there are a few songs of his that make me wish i was deaf), and neither is mayer. this is a dave discussion board, so a bias favoring dave should be expected. i think both of them are great guitarists and amazing songwriters, so lets just leave it at that.

i didn't mean to piss you off, so i'm sorry. "don't worry be happy" :D

Come on now Neon is not that hard... I have been playing for 8 years and find that song quite difficult. The chords aren't very hard but its that damn slapping that gets me all the time.

I can play it ...but neevr to the caliber of Firedancer or John Mayer. and yes, John verses Dave is a circular discussion but we all know the answer to whos an actaul better musican. Im not a big mayer fan, saw him twice and am seeing him in the fall.
I just think that some of ya'll need to chill a bit.....and stop placing Dave on such a high pedastool. He's good but not that good.

I think he excels in his actuall song writing. He is certainly a modern day poet with such a great outlook on life.

Intially, I wanted to defend DropD. But, I find myself defending myself.

Anyway, Take care and I will see ya.
