I'm gonna do a recording, but i've never done one before. how should i do it?
guitar and vocals at the same time, seperatly? what?
i also have 2 mics. one head set and one seperate. should i place the seperate one near my guitar and the head set on for vocals?

If you are just trying to get down some ideas quickly, just set up one mic at neck level, 3-4 feet back and you can get a nice "open sounding" recording. Most people like things close miced, but that might take some pratice to get the balance(and tone) right. Just experiment and see what you like best.
