what the hell? who breaks a D string?
Along with that, I broke 3 picks this week. what the hell? who breaks a pick?
I've been strumming as opposed to picking lately, so I can work on my voice. I guess I just rock out too hard.

That would be scary. I screem like a little girl when my b string breaks.
An old high school teacher of mine tried to learn the guitar when he was younger but a string broke and hiit him in the eye. That was the end of that.

I've broken a D before, but the most common break is the G for me.

the actual core on the G string is smaller than the b and e, so its the most prone to break/go outa tune.

That's why fingerstyle is the one style to rule them all. Of course, if I ever have to use a pick to play some funky dave stuff (Jimi, Billies) instead of just my thumb I'll be screwed unless I have half an hour to practice it beforehand. The only time I use a pick is to do scales and solos and stuff. O.o

It's so scray when they break. The surprise, plus the pain of getting flogged by your sting.
