uhhh....is this normal?
I know that something is usually fucked up when the distance between the twelfth fret to the saddle and the distance from the 12th fret to open is not the same, making the sound fucked up when you go higher up the string, but is it normal to have that only happen to one string.
mine is the high e string. anyone know?

your fret spacing is not right. the mistake probably lies in the saddle, especially if its compensated. too many of these compensated saddles are mounted incorrectly. im not sure how to fix it...i-am-me wrote:I know that something is usually fucked up when the distance between the twelfth fret to the saddle and the distance from the 12th fret to open is not the same, making the sound fucked up when you go higher up the string, but is it normal to have that only happen to one string.

but anyway, for danny:
when you play your high e string open, in tune, the note you're playing is E. when you play the same string on the 12th fret, its also supposed to be E. but its not. the open is perfectly in tune, but the 12th fret is not.
this isn't happening on all the strings, just the high e. so i guess i'm gonna have to take it in.

sounds like you should take it in... dont let them tell you that your neck needs to be re-fretted. the mistake is in the saddlei-am-me wrote:yea...i konw. haha. i've been here for quite a while.praisedave wrote:your fret spacing is not right. the mistake probably lies in the saddle, especially if its compensated. too many of these compensated saddles are mounted incorrectly. im not sure how to fix it...i-am-me wrote:I know that something is usually fucked up when the distance between the twelfth fret to the saddle and the distance from the 12th fret to open is not the same, making the sound fucked up when you go higher up the string, but is it normal to have that only happen to one string.
