Unread post by Don_Linthorne » Wed Nov 03, 2004 10:29 pm

Ok guys if you're ever gonna help me now is the time... I've been jammin some DMB with a buddy of mine who plays the drums and we have a guy that is a great singer. We are getting a lot better and we are tryin to plan a party where we have like a little tribute concert. So we picked 15 songs that we are most comfortable with and we are gonna play those. Plus we don't want to drag it out too long we want to leave something to the imagination. But now we need a set list. This is where you guys come in. I want this to blow ppl's minds and want to hear us again. Can You guys suggest any order for these songs???????

Ok we got ...
1 - Granny
2 - Everyday
3 - Dancing Nancies
4 - Warehouse
5 - Ants Marching
6 - Rhyme and Reason
7 - Big Eyed Fish
8 - #41
9 - What Would You Say
10 - So Much To Say
11 - Anyone Seen The Bridge
12 - Trippin Billies
13 - Lie In Our Graves
14 - Stay
15 - All Along the Watchtower

That is the list I come up with if yas can think of a better arrangement I'm all ears. Thanks a million Guys.

Dude, Just feel it out. typically a concert starts with a soft song or a rockin' song. Depends on how you want to begin & what is most comfortable for you.

usually the first song sets the mood of the concert. so if you want it to be a nice mellow happy concert, do somethin glike everyday. but if you want to tell them that you rock and DMB kicks ass bust something like warehouse.

my .02

10, 11, 5 (segue into each) 6, 1, 8, 9, 2, 12, 13, 7, 14, 3, 4, 15

I like the ending nancies-->warehouse-->watchtower if you guys rock that out you keep em wanting more

I think the SMTS-->ASTB-->Ants would be cool

You could try to segue Billies into LIOG somehow

Let me know what you think and good luck

Matty

Yeah if you don't have any original songs, then here and there I would segue from Dave's songs into a cover of someone elses.....that makes it more interesting....Dave use to do it early on.

Also, I was trying to bite my tongue but just couldnt; wrong forum...and people would have responded just the same if you didn't make it look like a crisis. Kind of like crying wolf.

This is the drummer for the guitarist that posted the first message, and were are doing just dave songs...thats our thing for now, its nothing serious its just a party with a bunch of dmb fans, so if you dont wanna help us then dont message. for those actually saying something worthwhile thank you. We do one really good segue(s) of WWYS-SMTS-ASTB-trippin billies, so i dont think we are gonna break up those songs. but you guys had some really good ideas. Myself i think we will end the party with watchtower b/c that is a favortie amongst the people we are playing for

I think the order in the original post is fine. Starts off with two upbeat songs. Nancies -->Warehouse is good. Ants - solid. R+R and BEF nice back to back
the WWYS -->Billies stretch will be kickass. Then take a break and come back with the last three.
