I would like to think that I have overcome my fear of playing for others...by the grace of God, I led worship services at my youth group for 2 years...that (and my personal relationship with HIM) helped me through being infected soon after beginning to play in front of people...
HOW I BEAT IT:
...it began when I was 14...I had only been going to my youth group for about 3 weeks when my Youth Pastor asked me, "would you be willing to play and sing and lead a band of 7 other people for our services?"...

they were like 17 and 18 and I was this new guy coming in and doing what I had never been trained to do...so, after seeking God in the matter, I thought that since I felt that that was/is what I am called to do, that it would be an excellent learning experience and a great way for me to serve my God, and my Youth Group...so I agreed...there is nothing like going up on stage the first time with 7 strangers (with around 20 min. practice behind you) holding your Dad's Fender DG10ce (where you have to stand on the neck to get sound to come out), and leading people in worship...rough beginnings, but with some help from the Lord, I was getting to where I could play without worry of 'making mistakes', or 'looking funny'...'missing notes', or being a hair oof time'...why? Because IT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME WHAT OTHER PEOPLE MAY THINK...I HAVE A HEAVENLY FATHER WHO IS PLEASED WITH ME...I GIVE WHAT I CAN, AND I TRUST HIM TO COVER ME ON THE REST...

...
well, now I can play in front of most anybody without fear...
NOW THAT I GOT THAT OUT OF THE WAY:
There are many too many types of crowds/audiances out there...I have had the opportunity to play to alot of them...Christian and secular...
TYPE 1> ONE PERSON (1): Easy, but not nescicarily the easiest, depending on how well you know the person...
YPE 2> Small Group (2-10): When it comes to wroship, it is my favorite...the most intimate - personal setting...
TYPE 3> Medium Group (10-20): Also fun; getrting a little harder though...probably the hardest for me seeing my response for type 4...
TYPE 4> The easiest for me; no matter how well I know the people doesn't matter...there are so many, that I just tend to block out individuals and just "zone out" while I play...of course when I "jam", I put some spice into stage presemce and you have to be careful not to neglect the crowd...but I don't picture them naked

I just zone into "large crowd mode"...
I have played from as little as 1 to 400 and it ipays SO UCH to get familiar with the guitar, but what I fall back on is trust in God.
Don't take any of what I said as self rightous please...I am being honest and it is not meant to be proud
YOU ASKED !
