Having the damn hardest time getting the verse to Tripping B
Hey guys, I'm having the damn hardest time getting down the verse to tripping billies. I've spent a couple of hours messin with it and I just can't get it down for some reason. My fingers feel like they're about to bleed. Any other Dave song has never taken me this long. Any advice other than to just keep on practicing my ass off??

It's just quarter rhythm, so strum it that way in all down strokes. 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4. On the second half of the verse, give the slide a lot bit of the second strum, maybe an extra eight note, to keep with the four-four. Trust me, it's ridiculously easy, but I've never had a problem with rhythm like most people.

I've been playing guitar for 2 years and never really took lessons from an actual instructor.. I just kinda picked it up and read tabs and went from there and thats where I am today. When you're talking about "quarter rhythem" and "eight note" and "four four" I have no idea what you're talking about. Please forgive me ignorance but could you try and help to explain... I'll keep practicing.

Four/four means there are four notes to a measure. The verse riff is two measures long, so it's counted 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4. When you tap your foot to a song, your following the rhythm.Dave4President wrote:I've been playing guitar for 2 years and never really took lessons from an actual instructor.. Just look it up on the internet. You'll find entire lesson plans. It's definitely advisable to take a few years of piano lessons before moving on to other instruments.

You should dl tim and dave on storytellers. Whenever i have trouble with a song i usually pick it up right away after getting a visual.
